By invitation from Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

Sidney Myer Music Bowl,
Kings Domain, Melbourne

To conclude Zelman Symphony’s 80th Anniversary celebrations, we will be thrilled to present a one hour Free Concert at 5.00 pm in Australia's favourite outdoor space for music. The concert will feature Russian (and not so Russian) favourites. This concert is by kind invitation from the MSO to mark the joint origin of both orchestras which grew from the first MSO founded by Alberto Zelman Jnr in 1906.

Pack your picnic basket and join us in celebrating this significant anniversary.  Then stay to hear the MSO's own Free Concert at 7.00 pm, featuring Caroline Almonte playing the Rachmaninov Third Piano Concerto, followed by Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony, Pathétique.

Mark Shiell - conductor

Program

Glinka - Russlan and Ludmilla: Overture
Rachmaninov - Vocalise (Orchestral Version)
Tchaikovsky - Capriccio Italien
Khachaturian - Spartacus: Suite No. 2
Rimsky-Korsakov - Snow Maiden: Dance of the Tumblers
