Donations of $2.00 or more to Zelman Symphony are now tax-deductible.

Zelman Symphony is Melbourne’s oldest and most-daring community not-for-profit symphony orchestra with a history going back to 1906. The orchestra gives concerts in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs plus occasionally in Daylesford and other regional centres as well as in Melbourne’s major concert venues such as Hamer Hall, The Recital Centre, Melbourne Town Hall and even the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

Money received from donations is used for purchase of equipment as well as to fund major projects.

The Donations Fund

Zelman Memorial Symphony Orchestra Inc. is a non-profit association. We receive no government funding.

Ticket revenue provides only a portion of our overall operating budget, and the remainder comes from player memberships, sponsorships and dividends from several past bequests.

Zelman Symphony is listed on the Register of Cultural Organisations, and has formed the Zelman Memorial Symphony Orchestra Donations Fund which is able to accept donations to support the orchestra. Donations of $2.00 or more to this fund are tax deductible. The orchestra is also registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.

Any donation you can make, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. Your gift will be used to fund musical instruments, music scores and stage equipment to enhance our performances, ensuring Zelman Symphony continues to benefit the community and offer valuable performance opportunities to local performers.
