Kerry McManus - lyric/coloratura soprano![]() A graduate from the Melba Conservatorium of Music (BMus 2004), Kerry McManus was fortunate enough to be awarded with scholarship funding whilst completing her studies: recipient of the Mary Campbell Scholarship for female vocal study, awarded in 2002, and the much sought after Dame Nellie Melba Scholarship funding of a female vocalist's fees for two years in the Diploma of Vocal Studies (received in 2004). Kerry's ability to sing a wide range of genres has seen her perform in many different environments, both in Victoria and interstate, ranging from sacred music in church settings to singing opera with the Three Chinese Tenors. She has participated in various corporate events for organisations such as The Hawthorn Football Club and Malaysian Airlines, and she has also given live-to-air solo performances for radio stations 3MBS (Melbourne) and 3ZZZ (national). Born to Irish parents, Kerry has a strong sense of her cultural heritage, having appeared both as a singer and Irish dancer at many an event within the Irish community. Her television appearances include Channel 7's morning program, Sunrise. Kerry hopes to continue perfecting her vocal skills and performing at every given opportunity. Kerry performed arias by Donizetti
and Puccini with the Zelman Symphony at the MLC Auditorium on
Saturday 1 April 2006 and, of course, for the
Hepburn Springs Swiss-Italian Festival
in our concert at the Daylesford Town Hall on Sunday 23 April 2006.
