Review of our June concert conducted by Guest Conductor - Roy Theaker

We were pleased and honoured to receive a good review for our last concert from Classikon’s Peter Hagen saying that “This was stunning performance.”

Here are a few excerpts from the review - you can read the whole review at this link.

Commenting on our soloists, Hagen said “The solo violin part [Roy Theaker] was …. nuanced and finely balanced.” Hagen went on to highlight “…. the fire and the elan shown by Theaker.” And in respect to our cellist, he wrote: “Kalina Krusteva, described in the programme notes as a “cellist of the highest standard” lived up to her description.”

In respect to the orchestra, Hagen wrote that “The beautiful consistent sound of the cello section gave a wonderful firm tone to the whole orchestra.” and “The fine flute playing throughout the evening delighted …” and “…. the timpanist dazzled me with his exceptional precision and non-stop attention to the conductor.” He also wrote that “The Dvořák Seventh Symphony ….. was a solid performance of a major work.”

Hagen ended by saying that “I enjoyed an evening of entertainment and live music with a high standard of performance. Do search for local orchestras...... They are ..... providing very worthwhile events.”
